Enquanto ainda aguardamos a chegada da AirPower às lojas (base para carregamento sem fio de dispositivos Apple que a Maçã anunciou em 2017, mas que ainda não foi lançada oficialmente), talvez os fones de ouvido sem fio AirPods acabem ganhando uma segunda geração a ser lançada ainda em 2018.
Rumores já vinham aquecendo o mercado quanto a essa possibilidade e, agora, o leaker Ice Universe, conhecido por acertar muitas de suas "previsões" sobre o mercado mobile, publicou em seu Twitter que "definitivamente" os novos AirPods chegam ainda neste ano.

O analista Ming-Chi Kuo, que sempre nos agracia com informações sobre a Apple em primeira mão, foi outro nome de peso que chegou a falar sobre os AirPods 2, inclusive, declarando que os novos fones seriam lançados ou no final de 2018, ou no início do ano que vem.
Em outubro, pouco antes do evento especial em que a Apple anunciou os novos iPads Pro e novos Macs, o estoque dos fones AirPods em várias varejistas dos Estados Unidos se esgotou, com isso rendendo especulações de que uma nova geração do produto apareceria no evento em questão. Contudo, nada foi falado ali sobre os novos AirPods, com o produto voltando aos estoques logo em seguida.
De qualquer maneira, é possível que ainda vejamos novidades da Apple em 2018 — resta aguardar para confirmar se Ice Universe está certo também desta vez.
